How matching works
When a client requests a visit, dispatch builds a list of candidates: the providers who can take it. Then it ranks them.
Who's eligible
- The provider's procedure profiles include every service the client requested (see Provider Profiles).
- They match any preferences on the request, like a specific organization or practitioner.
How candidates are ranked (Default strategy)
- Availability: providers with open time in the requested window come first. Open time means availability minus blocked time and existing appointments.
- Fewest pending offers: providers who aren't already holding other offers rank higher.
- Fair rotation: among the rest, whoever has gone longest since their last offer ranks higher, so visits are spread evenly.
With the Open strategy, every eligible provider gets the offer at once. See Dispatch Rules & Fees.
See the candidates for a request
- In the side menu, select Dispatch and open a request.
- Under Primary Constraint, select View Details.
- Candidates are listed by rank, with their organization and their open times in the requested window.
- Select Book to assign a provider yourself, or Decline to remove them from consideration.
Each candidate also shows their distance from the client, once the provider's home address has been saved on their profile.
Tips
- A provider who never shows up as a candidate is usually missing a procedure profile, or has no availability in the requested window.
- Save every provider's home address so you can see distance when you pick by hand.
