Before you start
You'll need a marketplace admin role, plus a Segment workspace and/or a Google Tag Manager container. For the full list of events, see Analytics Events.
Step 1: Open Integrations
In the side menu, under Global, select Marketplaces, open your marketplace, then the Integrations tab.
Step 2: Connect Segment
- On the Segment card, select Configure, then Edit.
- Paste the write key from your Segment server source into v2 write key. This carries bookings, payments and visits.
- Optional: paste a Segment browser source key into v2 browser source to also track what clients do on your booking page.
- Turn on v2 enabled and select Update.
The Enabled (legacy server source) option is the older event format. New setups should use v2.
Step 3: Add Google Tag Manager
- On the Google Tag Manager card, select Configure.
- Enter your Container ID (GTM-…).
- Require marketing consent: marketing tags wait until the client agrees. Recommended.
- Enable GTM v2 (dataLayer events): pushes booking events into the dataLayer for your tags and triggers.
- Data tier: minimal sends counts and values only; commerce adds service (item) details for ad pixels.
- Consent token secret: only if you collect consent on a different domain than your booking page. Leave blank otherwise.
- Select Save.
Tips
- Count revenue from Segment's server events, not page tags. Ad blockers can hide browser events.
- Use Segment's debugger to watch events arrive after a test booking.
