Before you start
NomadMD stores every time precisely and shows it in the right local time. Two settings decide which local time you see: your organization's time zone and each provider's time zone. Most teams work in one time zone and never need to think about this. It matters when you have providers or staff in different time zones.
Your organization's time zone
- Set it in Settings → Info → Edit → Time zone.
- Appointment times in the dashboard are shown in this time zone, with the zone abbreviation (for example, "2:00 PM CDT"), so everyone on the team sees the same time for the same visit.
Each provider's time zone
- Each profile has its own Time zone, chosen when the profile is created and changed by editing the profile in Personnel.
- Availability is set in the provider's time zone. A shift from 9:00 AM to 5:00 PM means 9 to 5 where the provider works.
- If you're editing someone's hours and their time zone is different from yours, NomadMD shows a time zone warning in the availability form, so you know which local time you're entering.
Avoiding mix-ups
- Check the organization's time zone matches where most visits happen.
- Check each provider's time zone matches where they actually work, especially for remote or traveling staff.
- When you see a time zone warning while setting hours, double-check the hours before saving.
Tips
- Daylight saving time is handled for you. Weekly hours stay at the same local time all year.
- If a provider says their hours look an hour off, compare their profile time zone with where they work.
