Before you start
A travel fee is an extra charge for visits in a particular service area. It's set per area, and it's added to the client's total at checkout. You'll need the business owner role. If you haven't set up service areas yet, see Geoperimeters first.
Step 1: Open your service area
In the side menu, select Settings, then the Service Area tab.
Step 2: Set the fee
- Select the area's link in the list to edit it (or select Add Coverage to create a new one).
- Enter the Travel fee ($). Leave it at 0 for no fee.
- Select Save.
Step 3: Build distance tiers
When a client's address is inside more than one of your areas, the lowest travel fee applies. That makes tiers easy:
- Create a smaller area around your home base with a travel fee of $0.
- Create a larger area around it with a travel fee, for example $25.
- Clients close in pay nothing. Clients in the outer ring pay $25. Add more rings for more tiers.
Tips
- Mention travel fees on your website so they aren't a surprise at checkout.
- Travel fees show as their own line on the client's receipt and in reports.
